1. INTRODUCTION

This Cookie Policy explains how Par Taps Pty Ltd (ABN 45 006 974 947) (“we”, “us” or the “Company”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website at https://partaps.com.au (also accessible via https://partaps.com) (“this site”).

This Cookie Policy should be read in conjunction with our Privacy Policy (https://partaps.com.au/privacy-policy), which describes how we collect, use and protect your personal information more broadly.

2. WHAT ARE COOKIES?

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a web page server to identify and interact more effectively with your browser. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your device. They are uniquely assigned to you and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie.

In some cases, cookies may collect and store personal information about you. We extend the same privacy protections to information gathered via cookies as to information collected through other means.

3. TYPES OF COOKIES

This site uses two types of cookies:

Persistent cookies are stored in your browser’s cookie folder and remain after you close your browser. They may be used by your browser on subsequent visits to this site. These cookies have an expiry date set by the server and will remain until that date or until you delete them.

Session cookies are held temporarily in your browser’s memory and are deleted when you close your browser or shut down your device. They do not collect information from your device and are typically used to manage your session while you navigate the site.

4. HOW WE USE COOKIES

This site uses cookies to:

  • Remember your preferences for using this site;

  • Manage the sign-up process when you create an account with us;

  • Recognise you as logged in while you remain so, avoiding the need to log in again on each page;

  • Facilitate e-commerce transactions, ensuring your order is retained between pages during checkout;

  • Show relevant notifications based on your account or subscription status; and

  • Remember details submitted through online contact forms.

Many of these cookies are removed when you log out, but some may persist so that your preferences are remembered for future visits.

6.3 OUR SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCE

Par Taps is active on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and TikTok. When we publish a post on Instagram it is also shared to our Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and TikTok pages so that our content reaches our audience across each platform.

Importantly, this activity happens on those platforms not on partaps.com.au. We do not embed Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag or any other social media tracking technology on this site. As a result, no cookies are set by Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok or YouTube when you visit partaps.com.au. If you click through from this site to one of our social media pages, that platform’s own cookies and privacy policy will apply once you arrive there. Their cookies are outside our control. If we add paid social advertising or embedded social content to this site in the future, we will update this Cookie Policy and our cookie consent banner before any new tracking technologies are deployed.

6.4 TIKTOK

TikTok may use cookies and pixel tags to support remarketing and to facilitate TikTok social sharing features or embedded content on this site.

Manage preferences: TikTok privacy settings within the TikTok app

6.5 YOUTUBE

YouTube (a Google service) may use cookies when YouTube videos are embedded on this site, or for remarketing purposes to display relevant advertisements on the YouTube platform.

7. COOKIE CONSENT

By continuing to use this site, you acknowledge the use of cookies as described in this Cookie Policy. We recommend reviewing this policy periodically, as we may update the cookies we use.

Note: This site does not currently implement a cookie consent banner. We are reviewing the implementation of a consent management solution to provide you with more granular control over non-essential cookies.

8. MANAGING COOKIES

You can configure your browser to accept all cookies, reject all cookies, or notify you when a cookie is sent. Most browsers accept cookies by default, but settings can be modified at any time.

To manage cookies in common browsers:

  • Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data

  • Safari: Preferences > Privacy

  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data

  • Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Cookies and site data

9. OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES

In addition to cookies, we and our third-party partners may use similar tracking technologies on this site, including:

Pixel tags (web beacons): Small transparent images embedded in web pages or emails that allow us and our advertising partners to track whether a page or email has been viewed and to record certain interactions.

Local storage: Similar to cookies but with a larger storage capacity, used to store preferences and session data in your browser.

The same privacy protections described in this Cookie Policy and our Privacy Policy apply to information collected through these technologies.
